The following terms and conditions apply to all tours offered by Normandy Drop Zone Tours, LLC ("NDZT"):
Payment Schedule
To reserve your space on a tour, please complete a Tour Application Form and mail it, along with the appropriate deposit/payments, to the address listed at the bottom of the form. Your deposit/payments will be credited against the total tour cost. The payment schedule for the tour is as follows:
| At time of reservation | - | $2,500.00 Deposit |
| 120 days prior to departure | - | 50% of tour cost |
| 60 days prior to departure | - | Balance of tour cost |
All tour prices are quoted in US dollars and are based on a 3% cash discount. All payments must be made in US dollars by check, money order or credit card. All tour payments submitted fewer than 45 days prior to departure must be by credit card or cashier's check.
Pricing
All tour prices are quoted in US dollars and are based on a 3% cash discount. Prices listed on our website are subject to change because the tour dates and prices have often been published well in advance of the departure date. Between that time and the time of the tour's actual departure, we are occasionally faced with exceptional cost increases or currency fluctuations that we cannot absorb. We do everything we can to keep our prices the same as published. However, if there were to be exceptional cost increases or currency fluctuations, we may be forced to raise our trip price; if so, your final invoice, sent out 75 days prior to departure, will reflect the difference. In such event, you shall have the right to cancel your trip and receive a full refund of all payments you make for the tour, less the $250 non-refundable registration fee, or to pay the increase and join us on the tour.
Travel Documents
Final travel documents and tour materials for fully paid tour participants, including itineraries, will be mailed or emailed approximately 30 days prior to departure.
Single Supplements
Accommodations in Normandy are in an historic farmhouse and are "bunkhouse style" with two or more persons sharing a large room or rooms. Single supplements are paid by tour participants who specifically request single accommodations while in Normandy ($500 for seven nights), subject to availability. We are not responsible for clashes of personalities for individuals sharing rooms.
Luggage Allowances and Security
Luggage allowances and charges and airport security procedures and time allowances change often. Please check with the airline with which you book transportation for any important changes to luggage allowances and with TSA for current security procedures and time allowances. NDZT shall not be held responsible for any luggage fees, which are the sole responsibility of the tour participant. We use many forms of transportation, so we ask that you restrict your luggage to one piece of soft-sided luggage plus airline approved carry-on luggage.
Tour Participants
In order to ensure the smooth operation of all tours and to ensure congenial tour groups, we reserve the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant or to expel from the tour without recourse to any refund any person for any reason who, in our opinion, is not compatible with the interest of the group or may threaten the safety or interfere with the well-being of the group or individual travelers, or who fails to follow the instructions of the tour guides. Please note that all of our accommodations, vans and other transportation are non-smoking. Tour participants are responsible for conforming to basic standards of personal hygiene and to historically-accurate appearance and dress (i.e., proper impression uniforms and equipment, no long hair, beards, earrings, etc.)
For photos and complete uniform/gear requirements, click here. The tour participant must at all times comply with the laws, customs and regulations of France, including the prohibition to display Nazi symbols or engage in any other pro-Nazi activities while on the tour, and act in a considerate manner toward all group participants and NDZT staff.
Written Notice
All reservations, cancellations and changes must be made in writing. We are not obligated to act on information given via telephone until written notice has been received. Email actually received by NDZT shall be accepted as written notice.
Cancellation and Refunds
If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your tour, the following fees will apply, computed as of the date of receipt of written cancellation notice, which can be sent by email or standard mail. If cancellation is not in writing, you shall be responsible for full payment of the tour. Each deposit, regardless of amount,
includes a $250
non-refundable registration fee. We will refund all payments you make for the tour, less the $250 non-refundable registration fee, if cancellation is received by us more than 120 days before departure. If cancellation is received by us between 120 and 91 days before the departure date, you shall be responsible for twenty-five (25%) percent of the tour cost. If cancellation is received by us between 90 and 61 days before the departure date, you shall be responsible for fifty (50%) percent of the tour cost. If cancellation is received by us 60 or fewer days before departure, you shall be responsible for 100% of the tour cost. Rates are based on group participation, and no partial refunds will be given for unused tour arrangements for any reason whatsoever. Once you have been confirmed on a tour, normal cancellation penalties apply if your doctor does not sign the
Physician's Release.
Transfers
You may transfer to another tour date within the same calendar year without penalty by notifying us of your wish to transfer 91 days or more prior to departure. After that time, you are subject to the cancellation fees outlined above.
Itinerary Changes and Delays
NDZT reserves the right to supply comparable services and accommodations if the services and accommodations described for a particular tour cannot be supplied due to causes beyond our reasonable control. The itinerary as stated for each tour must be taken only as an indication of what each group may accomplish and not a contractual obligation. The tour participant understands that the amenities, type of transport, route, schedule and itinerary may change without prior notice due to local circumstances or events, which may include mechanical breakdown, flight cancellations, illness, strikes, political disputes, weather, access to properties and other unforeseen factors.
Cancelled Tours
NDZT reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to departure for any reason whatsoever, including insufficient sign up or logistical problems that may impede tour operations. The refund of all tour payments received shall release NDZT from any further liability. A tour with insufficient sign up would normally be cancelled a minimum of 30 days prior to departure. NDZT must normally make substantial payments to its suppliers (hotels, transportation companies, etc.) far in advance of the scheduled embarkation date. If a tour is cancelled due to force majeure (acts of God, war, labor strikes, earthquake, flooding, etc.), NDZT will promptly refund the portion of the tour cost not already advanced to suppliers and use its best efforts to recover and refund the balance as promptly as possible. However, NDZT does not guarantee recovery of any or all of the advance payments made, and our use of best efforts to recover these payments will not include the institution of any legal proceedings in the United States or foreign jurisdictions. NDZT is not responsible for expenses incurred by tour participants in preparing for a cancelled tour (e.g., nonrefundable advance purchase air tickets, visa fees, inoculations, equipment, etc.) or for any additional arrangements should the tour participant have embarked prior to the scheduled start date of the tour.
Passports and Visas
Valid passports are required for all tour participants. Visas may be required of tour participants traveling from certain destinations. If visas are required, it is your responsibility to ensure that all completed visa applications are obtained and copies provided to us in a timely fashion. It takes time to acquire visas. We suggest that you make your application at the earliest available date. Failure to complete these requirements may jeopardize your participation in the tour and the forfeiture of all or part of your tour cost.
Physical Condition and Medical Precautions
Tour participants are solely responsible for being in sufficiently good health and strong physical condition to undertake any tour and for taking all appropriate medical precautions. Tour participants must be able to fully participate in the activities of this tour without delaying or infringing upon the progress of the tour or the other tour participants. All tour participants must complete a Medical History Form and must obtain a Physician's Release at least 45 days prior to departure. NDZT cannot provide medical advice, including but not limited to, advice on inoculations or health requirements. Tour participants are strongly encouraged to contact their family physician or Public Health Service for travel health questions. All NDZT tours are strenuous and require walking/hiking in full WWII-era military uniform (with boots, helmet, weapons and accessories) on uneven and hilly terrain, traveling through historical battlefields, using non-firing WWII-period replica weapons, traveling in WWII-period vehicles, participating in simulated military operations (sometimes at night or in low-light conditions) and exploring WWII-era bunkers and buildings. Weather conditions may be very hot and humid, cold and/or wet. Tour participants are responsible for knowing all pre-departure information, preparing proper equipment and clothing, conforming to basic standards of personal hygiene and to historically-accurate appearance and dress and acting in a considerate manner toward all group participants and NDZT staff and with respect for the laws, customs and regulations of France, including the prohibition to display Nazi symbols or engage in any other pro-Nazi activities while on the tour. Tour participants must make NDZT aware at the time of registration of any disability, handicap, health or dietary restriction or any other condition that may interfere with or limit their ability to fully participate in a tour.
Paratrooper Boot and Equipment Break-In Period
It is
very important for all tour participants to break-in their uniforms, paratrooper boots and equipment at least thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled tour departure date. Nothing will cause more problems for a tour participant than the discomfort (blisters) of wearing new paratrooper boots that are not properly broken-in well before the tour departs.
Limitation of Liability
These paragraphs (together with the
Release of Liability and Assumption of All Risks section of the Tour Application Form) define our responsibility with respect to all our tours. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Payment of your deposit represents your acceptance of the following terms and conditions:

Travel Insurance

here. Please contact Travel Insured International directly at (800) 243-3174 with any questions regarding the policy's terms and conditions.
